LIVEWIRED TV
The concept of television is changing on a worldwide basis—a transformation that has already had a profound impact on the way artists and concert venues present their music. Whether fans and concertgoers are listening to performances or watching them on high-definition TVs and various mobile devices, the Internet has rapidly become a key part of music performance and performance-related commerce. LiveWired views Internet television not just as an aggregate of video-hosting websites, but as a broadcast medium that also offers the immediacy, accessibility and commerce potential of the website.
LiveWired TV has been conceived and designed to transform the video aggregation that now exists on the web into a more meaningful and manageable experience for both artist and audience. Our strategy not only positions the network as a global performance venue, but as a viable means for the development of live performances, educational activities, and the distribution of hard-copy and digital product. Focused initially on music influenced by Jazz and World traditions, the network will expand to include a wide range of public and private sector partners, allowing us to scale the network and increase our capacity to engage artists working in other musical genres and arts disciplines such as dance, design and film.
LiveWired TV will be launched by LiveWired in conjunction with the LiveWired Alliance and additional partners. Initially the network will consist of six Internet television stations, each offering three channels as follows:
-- Broadcast: streamed 6-hour programming blocks repeated four times daily to allow for prime-time viewing on a worldwide basis
-- On-demand: four distinct subscription methods and purchased downloads, featuring classic and current materials
-- Audio-only: combining elements of the broadcast and on-demand channels above
